Mit TeamCompanion können Sie projektrelevante Information mit Microsoft Outlook abrufen ohne Bedürfnis in eine andere Anwendung umzuschalten. Mit TeamCompanion können Sie auch die Vorteile einiger Standard Outlook Eigenschaften nutzen wie Instantsuche, die in allen Work Items Felder sucht, auch wenn Sie offline sind, Gruppierung und Favoriten.
Eine ganz coole Eigenschaft des neuen TeamCompanion ist Vista desktop search Integration. TeamCompanion ermöglicht es den Work Item Suchbegriff einfach in den das Vista Suchen Menu einzugeben und damit die Volltextsuche von Work Items zu starten. Klickend auf die resultierenden Links öffnet sich der übliche Work Item Editor.
